Easy

Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking method, as presented in the over 70 Easyway Clinics worldwide, is the world's most successful stop smoking program. Millions of people who have used the Easyway method, have found it easy and enjoyable to stop smoking immediately and permanently, without using willpower, aids or gimmicks, without suffering withdrawal problems or putting on weight, actually enjoyed the whole process and never had the slightest need or desire to smoke again.
Understandably, you may be sceptical, nevertheless it's true. What is more important is how and why the Easyway method is so successful. It's quite simple; just ask yourself the following question:
The Question
What would happen if you, or any smoker, were persuaded logically and scientifically beyond any doubt, that the following statements are the undeniable truth about smoking?
  • Smokers do not enjoy smoking
  • All smokers would rather not smoke
  • Nicotine withdrawal can be easy to manage
  • Smoking does not relieve stress or boredom
  • Smoking does not aid concentration or relaxation
  • Smoking does not improve social occasions
  • Smoking has absolutely nothing to do with habit whatsoever
  • If you understand nicotine withdrawal, you can avoid weight gain
  • There is nothing to give up
The result would be that you or any smoker would find it easy and enjoyable to stop smoking and to remain a happy non-smoker.
Allen Carr's Easyway method stops smokers smoking, simply by proving to them beyond any doubt, that the above facts are the undeniable truth about smoking. What's more, if you attend an Easyway Clinic and you do not become a happy non-smoker, we will refund your entire fee.

Nothing To Lose
Each of the over 70 Easyway Clinics offers a genuine and unique, three-month money back guarantee which is described fully on the webpage called "Easyway Clinics."
Allen Carr's Clinic network is the only stop smoking organisation prepared to offer a genuine three-month money back guarantee. This is because the Easyway method is so successful, we can afford to. Based on the money back guarantee, the success rates in our clinics for the last 23 years, is over 90%.
This makes Allen Carr the only organisation prepared to "put their money where their mouth is." More importantly however, it allows us to say to any smoker;
"What have you got to lose?"

5.0 out of 5 stars How to Quit Smoking- No If, Ands, or Butts, 21 Jun 2007
No need for a long review here. About the first three quarters of the book is spent exploding various myths and delusions about smoking (such as smoking relaxing you or getting rid of stress), which sets you up and gets you into the right frame of mind for actually quitting. At this point, the book wants you to continue smoking while you read it. In a nutshell, the easy way to stop smoking involves two things: one, deciding you are never going to smoke again, and two, don't mope about it anymore, rejoice. Sounds too simple, but after reading the first part of the book, this strategy will make more sense to you.

Lastly, the book cites two main reasons why you will fail: the influence of other smokers, and having a bad day. Having been around for 20 some years and being able to refine it with twenty years of feedback, I feel like this is one of the better books out there on non-smoking.

Also helpful: The Sixty-Second Motivator -short, to the point, and practical.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle!, 4 Mar 2007
I am a 23 year old male. I had been smoking since I was 14 years old. For about the last two years of my smoking, I was constantly trying to quit - by the end, I was trying to stop every Monday. Sometimes I would go an hour, sometimes a day, maybe even four or five days, now and again. Almost inevitably though, some reason, some excuse for me to smoke, would crop up that left me absolutely no choice in the matter, I just had to have a cigarette.

I'm not sure where I heard about this book, but I did, and how grateful I am too. This is the point where you who are reading this, start to feel sceptical of what you are about to read, much like I did when reading the reviews before me. Not that I questioned the truthfulness of others, but I seriously doubted my own capability of being successful like other people had. Here's what happened...

I read the book over the Christmas period of last year, 2006. By New Year's Eve, I was going over the last chapters, preparing for the 'final' cigarette. I tried to cram as many cigarettes into those concluding few hours of my smoking life, as I could possibly stomach. With mixed emotions, I read one of the penultimate chapters, instructing me to smoke my last cigarette, and end the slavery. I say mixed emotions because there was some fear of the unknown, some trepidation there, but I must stress that I really wanted to be free and was completely clear on my decision. I think the key for me, was really believing and desiring a life free from smoking. I had to want it.

So, that was a little over two months ago as I write, not a substantial amount of time, yet not insignificant considering the longest I ever went was 6 days and that was an absolute battle every minute. So far, I have been in pubs, had some very stressful moments, been to places that I wholey associate with smoking... yet I've not even been close to smoking. It just doesn't have the same hold over me anymore.

Now, I can't guarantee you the same success as I have had, or even quarantee myself the continued success that I've had. What I can tell you, is that if you genuinely want to quit smoking, and have not yet been able to find the necessary way to do so, then this book is, at worst, an interesting read that will set you back a few pounds. At best, it will bring about a change in attitude and thought that will strengthen you to no longer smoke and enjoy all the many benefits that brings. Personally, I would recommend this book to anyone who has a desire to stop smoking - give it a try and enjoy the ride.

I am extremely indebted to Mr Carr, as without this book, I'm certain that I would still be smoking, yet somehow despising every filthy inhalation of it... right now I'm not living that tortuous paradox, I'm just getting on with life.

I wish you all, and myself, all the best of luck. Our bodies are wonderful but fragile things, and if we don't look after them ourselves, who will...? Make the leap of faith.

Best wishes all

5.0 out of 5 stars it works, 2 Dec 2006

(REAL NAME)
I confess I didn't buy this book from Amazon - I was given a copy by an ex smoker. I had tried to quit smoking loads of times using every stupid technique known to man, but nothing seemed to work. Carr's book unravels all the myths and brainwashing and makes quitting so easy it is almost amusing! I now laugh at how dumb I was before trying to do something so ludicrously simple. It worked. I no longer smoke, nor do I want to ever again. As Carr puts it in his book, I am a "happy non-smoker". Genius... pure genius.

If you want to quit then this technique is THE way to do it. Don't use patches or replacement therapy. Don't replace nicotine from cigarettes with nicotine from patches. Just get rid of nicotine completely without any suffering. I promise, as someone who has benefitted from this book, the method REALLY WORKS.

I have nothing to gain from plugging this book except the satisfying thought that I might convince a smoker to try and and quit the habit easily.

3.0 out of 5 stars board book story misses the point, December 31, 2007
As a new parent, I am coming to learn that it is difficult to buy board books sight unseen, even if it is a familiar story (or perhaps especially when it is a familiar story). This cover to this board book is adorable and that's what drew me in to choose this Peter Rabbit board book over the others. The illustrations are from the original and the story is adapted from the original, but with every every other page or so missing.

In the original, Peter and his sisters are told to go gather blackberries and not to go into MacGregor's garden because Peter's father was made into a pie by MacGregor after being found in the garden. Peter, who is wearing a new coat, promptly disobeys his mother, stuffs himself with vegetables, gets spotted by MacGregor, loses his coat and barely makes it out of the garden alive. When Peter gets home, he is given chamomile tea for dinner. Peter's sisters, who listened to their mother and stayed out of the forbidden garden have a regular dinner.

In the board book, the risks Peter took and the consequences of his disobedience are left out. Peter loses his coat from one illustration to the next, but it's not explained. His sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail, though introduced on the first page, never reappear; you lose the comparison between bad Peter who has tea for dinner and good sisters who have a nice full dinner. Also, the board book says Peter has tea for dinner because he's so tired, not because he has a tummy ache from the vegetables like in the original, as well as because he disobeyed his mother and is being punished. This book reads as if Peter is just being chased out of the garden rather than being chased down -- MacGregor's goal is to catch Peter and eat him, but you can't tell that from this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tale of Peter Rabbit, June 15, 2006
ISBN 1569870675 - I previously reviewed another Landoll edition (ISBN 1569870217) of this book and found it sadly lacking. This edition is another story... the same story, of course, just better! Also, I notice that an earlier reviewer mentions Board Book pages - this copy is a hardcover, most suitable to children whose little fingers can handle the pages. It's also 24 pages long - just long enough for beginning readers. Just to help keep them all straight!

Father still ends up in a pie, Peter still disobeys his mother and goes into Mr MacGregor's garden. The chase in this book is better written, with a mention of Peter's cousin, Benjamin Bunny, as a nice way to introduce your children to other Potter books. Peter still ends up barely escaping, losing all his clothes to Mr MacGregor, and arriving home sick.

This copy has more detail, and much nicer illustrations. Peter, when caught up in the gooseberry net, or with a tear in his eye as he tries to ask directions of the mouse, are wonderfully done. I'd never have thought there could be such a difference between two copies of the same book, but you learn something new every day - unlike Peter, who just can't seem to learn and has lost his second set of clothing in a fortnight (nice detail)!
